Lessons from 2020 towards a successful 2021

Where periods of 2020 became a fight for survival for many training providers, with this also came the recognition that the increased use of technological solutions and varied delivery modes was not just something that should be a short-term introduction but instead could be used to differentiate an RTO and attract and educate a broader range of students ongoing.

 In Andrew’s presentation he will explore the lessons learnt from challenges faced by providers in 2020; how training providers can ensure they have not left themselves open to compliance concerns when this period is retrospectively reviewed, particularly where online learning was utilised at short notice; how VET sector leaders can have greater influence on change across the industry; and what opportunities are now available in an emerging post Covid-19 environment.


Speaker Biography

 Over the past 16 years, Andrew has held Senior Management and Executive level positions across a range of post-secondary education sector providers delivering across diverse cohorts including to domestic students, onshore to international students and offshore to international students.

In 2020, Andrew was recognized as the Professional Services Executive of the Year at the CEO Awards and Builders Academy Australia, the RTO which Andrew is Chief Executive Officer with, was recognized as the Small Training Provider of the Year at both the Victorian Training Awards and Australian Training Awards.

Andrew is well recognized as a Tertiary Education expert holding current positions such as Chair of PWC – Skills For Australia’s – Education Industry Reference Committee; Non-Executive Director and Victorian Chair with the Independent Tertiary Education Council of Australia (ITECA), Board Advisor with Top 100 Women and an active member of the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Stakeholder Liaison Group (SLG).
